ESSEC Keynote: Unpacking the Risks and Opportunities of Generative AI

Shanghai, March 21, 2024 - The rise of Generative AI in the Fourth Industrial Revolution presents both risks and opportunities for professionals and corporates. ESSEC keynote recently hosted an enlightening session on this topic, featuring two renowned experts in the field, Stephane Monsallier and Ashley Recanati.

Stephane Monsallier, a technology expert and influential figure in Shanghai’s entrepreneurial community, has been at the forefront of the tech industry since he began coding at the tender age of 10. After graduating from CentraleSupelec, he founded the Shanghai-based technology consulting firm, System in Motion. Monsallier’s current focus is on Generative AI, a field in which his expertise and eloquent keynotes have made him a sought-after speaker and mentor. He also mentors at Orbit Ventures, advises startups, launched the EO Accelerator program, and co-founded La French Tech Shanghai.

Joining Monsallier was Ashley Recanati, a former LVMH finance controller turned managing director, lecturer at the University of EM Lyon, and author of the book AI Battle Royal: How to protect your job from disruption in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Recanati’s book was born out of his concern for the lack of a guidebook to help employees navigate the fast-advancing pace of technology, particularly the surge of generative AI. His mission is to provide practical advice for employees of all trades.

AI Battle Royale details how the convergence of new technologies and trends are reshaping jobs and provides a methodology for workers to survive and thrive in this new landscape. The book focuses on the solutions employees can deploy in their workspace. In a world of accelerating change, AI Battle Royale serves as a practical guide to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The ESSEC Keynote session took place on March 21st, 2024, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Quban West Beijing Road, Shanghai JinAn district west Beijing Road No.1250 10F.
